Jio Phone 2 vs. Jio Phone : Price in India
Jio Phone 2 introductory price in India is set at Rs. 2,999 which was revealed during Reliance AGM meeting recently. Jio Phone 2 will be available for purchase from 15th August 2018 onward at Jio Online and offline retail stores. On the other hand, Jio Phone which was launched last year is offered at Rs. 1500 price tag. The phone is effectively free since this amount is a refundable security deposit returned after three years of purchase.

There is also a Monsoon Hungama offer from Jio, wherein feature phone users can bring their existing phones and exchange it with a new Jio phone for Rs. 501 starting from 21st July 2018, onward. Starting 15th August 2018, Jio Phone will support Whatsapp, Youtube Apps, and recently Facebook App was also made available. Jio Phone 2 is also offered with Whatsapp, Facebook, and Youtube apps capabilities.

Display:
Jio Phone 2 is equipped with 2.4-inch QVGA horizontal display and 4-way navigation key. Jio Phone is also offered with 2.4-inch QVGA with TFT display.

Exterior Design and Look:
Jio Phone 2 is equipped with Qwerty keypad and have the looks of a Blackberry. Jio Phone differs by having an alphanumeric keypad and a compact design.

Storage and OS:
From the storage viewpoint, Jio Phone 2 and Jio Phone both support RAM size of 512 MB RAM and it is equipped with internal storage of 4 GB which can be further expanded up to 128 GB with MicroSD support. Both Jio Phone 2 and Jio Phone are equipped with KaiOS Linux-based mobile operating system. KaiOS has support for 4G LTE, GPS, and Wi-Fi and also excels in battery management by optimizing energy consumption.

Cellular and connectivity:
Jio Phone 2 supports 4G LTE capabilities with VoLTE and VoWiFi support. Jio Phone supports 4G LTE with VoLTE. Jio Phone 2 supports Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, FM Radio and VoWiFi. Jio Phone is equipped with Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS, FM Radio.

Camera and Battery:
Both phones have the same camera capabilities: 2 MP rear camera and 0.3 MP VGA front camera and are also powered by 2000 mAh Li-ion removable battery.

SIM slot and type:
Jio Phone 2 features dual SIM slots that accept nano SIM type. On the other hand, Jio Phone is equipped with a single SIM slot that accepts a nano-SIM type.

While Jio Phone comes with a 1 GHz dual-core processor on the CPU front, we also expect Jio Phone 2 to be equipped with the same CPU configuration or a notch higher. Also, regional language support in 22 languages with a simplified user interface is expected to be available in Jio Phone 2 as it is already present in Jio Phone. Jio Voice Assistant and Jio Apps (My Jio, Jio Music, JioTV, Jio Games, among others) would also be present in Jio Phone 2. Additionally, users can connect Jio Phones to any TV with Jio media cable.
